Benjamin Till, composer of BBC’s Symphony for Yorkshire
I am Em Brulée, a jazz, blues and soul vocalist, songwriter, burlesque and cabaret compère and show-woman extraordinaire. An incredibly passionate and exhuberant performer I love nothing more than to entertain, surrendering to the joy of the music and creating an ambience of high glamour and high jinks at every opportunity.
In my vocal performances I take inspiration from the charismatic and soulful Divas of years gone by: Big Mama Thornton, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone to name but a few of these. I am a singer/songwriter and recording artist and have performed to audiences nationwide and abroad as a soloist and with bands The Do-Rite Trio, The Magnificent 7 ‘All Stars’ RnB combo, TC & the Swingcats and most recently Galaxians. Galaxians featured on 6music and BBC Radio 2 in 2018 and their latest album ‘Let The Rhythm In’ is available here: https://galaxians.bandcamp.com/
Career highlights so far include a key role in the BBC’s televised Symphony for Yorkshire, featuring with U-Sef on the soundtrack of American film ‘Bully’ and on the Ghostface Killah’s mix tape with ‘God’s Gonna Cut you Down’.
